Time

HELLO FRIENDS!

I am about to say something that I know you know.

Time is precious and it moves so fast.

The other day I was reminded of that when I had a girl’s day with my littlest besties who are 14 & 16. I have known them their whole life and we have been doing these girls’ days on the regular since they were about 6 and 4.

Leading up to the day I was reflecting on our girl’s days of the past basking in the warm glow of those beautiful memories I thought to myself, where does the time go?

I asked the littlest besties if we could do a “re-enactment” picture from one of our first girl’s days.

Looking at the two of them together captures how quickly time passes. As a result, it fills me with all the emotions!

It also reminded me how important it is to cherish time. Making sure that you do the most with the time you have been given.

Which brings me to my career, where I have spent a good chunk of that precious time.

I am so proud of my career. I have worked hard, I have accomplished so much, and I have been able to support myself.

Then I experienced three significant life events that changed how I thought about my career. The death of my Dad. Getting cancer. Having my cancer return.

In a nutshell, it made me realize how important my career was to my well-being but also that I needed to reprioritize where it sat in my life.

That is where my pivot to a Life Enthusiast and the creation of the series Your Career After… came to be.

I know all too well how fleeting time is and I want to make the most of mine. For me, that means spending time with family, and friends and doing things I am passionate about. That includes giving my time to my community and my career.

I can’t spend the time I used to on my career, I have limitations but that is okay. I made a shift so I can still do what I love and be mindful of my health.

Helping people with their careers has always given me joy.

I bring to the table a great mix of professional and personal experience when it comes to careers. Thinking about your career isn’t about a resume. That is such a small part of the journey. It really is about figuring out your foundation. How do you want to spend the precious time you have left.

I think we could all use a course like Your Career After…  at any point in our careers.

If you want to get a taste of my course “Your Career After…” come and join me on December 6th for a free lunch and learn on the course overview and answer any questions you may have. Check the link in my bio on JAYEMBarrie or go to my website to register!
