JAYEM is my calling. I want to share my journey in hopes that I can inspire and/or help others with their journeys.
I was a little kid with a vivid imagination, who loved school and was a “tad” (okay maybe “A LOT”) bossy who grew up to be a big kid who is creative, is always learning and who is a leader who loves to inspire others so that they can find fulfillment in their careers.
My 25+ career path has zigged and zagged and it has been filled with excitement, and sometimes fear. But most importantly it has been a completely satisfying ride. I have worked in corporate, education, and as an entrepreneur. But the one constant in my career is that I have ALWAYS followed my passion and found a way to love what I do…most days!
I loved my career so much I was determined to not let cancer take that away from me. And it did not. But it definitely changed how I viewed my life and career, so I happily pivoted and subsequently thrived.
But at the end of 2019, my cancer returned. This time more aggressively than the last time and I was shook. Everything I knew had to change, including my career, so this time I reluctantly pivoted. But guess what? I am still thriving.
Cancer was a significant life event that brought me to my calling…JAYEM.

Impactful communication has changed our workplace. Working with Jennifer has really helped my team understand each other and our clients which has increased our morale, productivity, and customer service. Jennifer has taken the science of personality and turned it into an art we can use every day. This program changed the way I work with my team. I learned so much and now getting the results I need from them. I can’t wait for our next training.
Jennifer Roy (Owner of BD North)
Jenn is very passionate about teaching and learning. Her enthusiasm for teaching is evident in the classroom and reflected in her student evaluations. Students enjoy and value Jenn’s approach in the classroom. She uses humour and much interaction to engage her participants. She always has many activities planned along with a wealth of information she provides in student guides and handouts. Jenn is organized, flexible and excellent to work with as a faculty member. She is always smiling, is positive and professional in all her dealings with clients, students, and college staff. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Jenn in the past and look forward to future projects. She is kind and genuine and brings positive energy in the room.
Jenny Wilcox (Program Manager, Part-Time Studies at Georgian College)
Very thorough. Made it exciting. She believed in what she was training. She got the group involved. When asked for help she was able to provide very good examples to lead the group in the right direction. She was very well-spoken. Loved her humour and most of all her facilitation kept me awake. An excellent training day!

We were most fortunate to have Jennifer host a workshop series, “Your Career After...Cancer,” as part of the program of support we offer at Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka for all who are living with the impact of a cancer diagnosis. We owe much to Jennifer for the incredible amount of time, attention to detail, research, preparation, and planning that she put into this remarkable series. Our participants provide overwhelming feedback to her tangible strategies, caring and empowering demeanor, and vast knowledge of current trends and ever-changing realities of the job market. She was able to tailor, in real-time, her weekly offerings to the evolving and very personal needs of the participants. Clear, measurable, and most discernible performance outcomes are indicative of the incredible impact Jennifer’s talent, skill, and professionalism has had on those who participated in the series. A real pleasure to partner in this innovative offering, we look forward to working with Jennifer again in the near future.

I feel much more confident when updating my resume and LinkedIn after gong through this workshop. The materials and handouts were all very helpful and I will use them in the future as I get back into the workforce. I would recommend this to anyone looking to start interviewing. It sets you up for success.

Jennifer has been a great HR Partner. Her insights – founded in training and experience – effectively balanced the voice of the associate and the evolving needs of the business. She build true partnerships by lending leadership guidance and infusing genuine engagement across her team. I would recommend her as an HR Partner or Consultant to any organization.
